I was so fortunate that my art and teaching took me to so many interesting places where I met such wonderful people in 2017. Teaching took me to Arrowmont in Tennessee, and to the Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos, New Mexico. Both storied places where artists have been visiting and creating for years. My part in co-curating the MUSUBU exhibit took me to Tokyo where I made many new friends and became even more enamored of that alluring city.

Does your book include the process you use to remove old book covers? I love both the Japanese mending and your use of old book covers.

DeleteI would SO love to take your Oakland class...I had signed up for that last year, but it was cancelled. This year, I will be traveling. :( Am interested in the workshop in Ashland in June. How much is it and how do we sign up?
ReplyDeleteHmmm. None of my classes there have ever been cancelled. But, maybe you can make the Ashland one. Follow the link in the blogpost for sign up information.
DeleteI ordered your book last year and go back to it frequently for inspiration. Could you do a blog post on your use of stamped images and why you add them to your stitched work?

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of inks/paints do you like for stencils and image transfers? What "adheres" well to the textiles?
DeleteIt really depends on your materials and what kind of effect you want. There are a lot of products out there. I recommend taking a class somewhere. Or online at Creativebug - I believe there are a few printmaking and fabric printing classes there.
