albums

Most people are aware that I like books.  So, when they come across an interesting one they often bring it by to show me.  Sometimes they even give it to me.  But in the cases below they were just show-and-tells.  No surprise since these are pretty special.  The two below are albums - one a school scrapbook and the other an album of doilies either made or collected by someone.

This is the album of doilies.  "Doylies" and ferns are stitched to the cover.  Although, it looks a little like "Boylies" and that sounds a little gross or "Boy Lies" which isn't a surprising term:

 

Many of the doilies left ghost prints on the pages

 Some were simple

and, some were whimsical

 and, some weren't there any more at all...

This was a school memory album / scrapbook that was absolutely gorgeous and sweet:

the keeper of this album recorded the fashion of the times...

 had many pages with pictures of friends...

 some thoughtful writing and correspondence...

 and, this is my absolute favorite page: the Kollo Club Point System... refraining from coffee - 10 points...willingness - 5 points...
